GEZE Employees Celebrate their Anniversaries with the Management

Every year, GEZE GmbH honours employees who have worked for the company for 25 or 40 years. This year, a total of 13 employees were honoured at the celebration in Stuttgart’s Rosenstein museum. GEZE CEO Brigitte Vöster-Alber is among those with an anniversary this year: she celebrates 50 years with the company in 2018.

Nine of this year’s GEZE employees celebrating an anniversary have been with GEZE for 25 years, and three have been with us for 40 years. None of them really imagined on their first day of work that they would stay with the company for so long – a sentiment shared by. Brigitte Vöster-Alber, Chief Executive Officer of GEZE, who in 2018 is also celebrating her 50th year as the head of GEZE. “I was 24 years old when I took over as general manager. At that age, you don't think so far ahead. I never thought I would actually be in the position for 50 years. But it was impressed upon me even as a child that I would hold the position for a long time,” says Brigitte Vöster-Alber.

She took over management of the company, which employs over 3,000 people worldwide and is one of the leading suppliers of door, window and safety technology, automatic door systems and building automation, in 1968. Since then, she has continually developed and expanded the corporate strategy, the product portfolio, and the company's international business. There has been a total investment of 28.8 million euro in the headquarters in Leonberg alone over the last few years. This reflects the CEO’s clear commitment to the site and the ‘Made in Germany’ quality mark.

Strong sense of community

As a family business, GEZE consciously fosters close contact with its employees. “Our Anniversaries Event is one of the most important events of the year; we wouldn't be where we are today without our employees,” says Brigitte Vöster-Alber. “I am very proud to be part of the anniversary celebrations myself this year, and that we can celebrate our long-term bond with GEZE.”
Christine Lehnert, also celebrating an anniversary this year, is another employee who values the closeness enjoyed within the company. The Project Consulting clerk has been with GEZE for 25 years. “GEZE has always supported me, for instance when my family situation changed. They always found solutions that worked for both sides.”

A company that inspires

Werner Weis has also been with GEZE for several decades, and celebrates 40 years with the company in 2018. As a foreman and workshop trainer he has finally found his dream job, having held several positions within the company. “Providing individual support and advice to our industrial trainees is a lot of fun. There’s always something new, and lots going on at GEZE,” says Werner Weis. “The company is constantly developing and coming up with new innovations.”
